University Health Services (UHS)

Clinic Hours

Effective June 1st through August 1st, the clinic will be open during Summer Semester for the following hours: Monday through Thursday, 9am-2pm. Additional hours (regular clinic hours) are available by appointment only. Please call the clinic if you need to be seen before or after Summer Semester hours.

Tuesday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Friday 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Appointments are appreciated but “walk-in” visits are available for acute illnesses. The presentation of a valid/current CSU ID Card (Laker Card) is required for services.

About Our Clinic

University Health Services is a part of the School of Nursing and is funded by student health fees. The clinic is staffed with Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and Certified Medical Assistants under the management of the Director and Medical Director of UHS.

The objectives of University Health Services is to assist students faculty and staff with the identification and management of their health care needs; and to provide educational and health prevention opportunities to the Clayton State University community throughout the academic year.

About Our Director

Dr. Julia Spinolo


Julia Spinolo, DNP, APRN-BC, LNC - Director

Dr. Julia Spinolo is the Director of the University Health Services for Clayton State University. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from Georgia State University, her master’s degree in nursing (MSN) from Kennesaw State University, and her doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) from Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Spinolo is a board certified family nurse practitioner and a legal nurse consultant. She is an active member in the following professional affiliations: Georgia Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, National League of Nursing, Georgia Association for Nursing Education, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Services

Students, faculty and staff can receive unlimited office visits with one of our healthcare professionals and can receive immediate medical attention for injuries and illness such as:

  • Cold/Flu
  • Earaches
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test
  • Bronchitis
  • Allergy injections
  • Sore Throat
  • Sprains
  • Lacerations/minor cuts
  • Sinusitis

Services provided at a fee are:

  • STD Screening
  • Annual Women/Men Health Screening
  • Health Assessments
  • Lab Services
  • Immunization

Cost

A currently enrolled student has been assessed a health fee; the health fee covers unlimited office visits to the UHS. There are additional fees for medications, lab services, physician and immunizations. The CSU faculty and staff are also required to pay the health fee each semester for services in the UHS.

Method of Payment: Cash, Check or Laker Card ONLY


Disclosure

The CSU UHS does not treat life or limb threatening illnesses. In case of a serious, life threatening illness/injury, dial extension 4050 (CSU Police) and transportation to the nearest hospital emergency room will be provided as quickly as possible.
